Ridiculous. Dumbledore needed the Dursleys a lot more than they needed him. If he would have tried to intimidate them or request that they treat him equally with Dudley they would have refused to ever take him in in the first place. They would have kicked him out, and for Lily's love to work the Dursleys had to be willing to take Harry in. Show me a quote where it says Harry went days without eating. I do agree that Harry was abused. He definitely was mistreated, but I believe that Dumbledore didn't want to do anything to jeopardize their willingness to let Harry live there. As for Sirius, his situation was the same no matter what safe house he went to. He was angry that he wasn't able to help, and anywhere he would have stayed he wouldn't have been able to do much good. Also ridiculous that you think Snape had no noble intentions. What is the point of him saving Draco by killing Dumbledore? He could have easily refused Dumbledore's request to kill him. He gave Harry the sword of Gryffindor. Why give Harry his memories if he had no good intentions? The worst thing Snape did was unknowingly betray Lily and James to Voldemort, something he will never forgive himself for. Unless I am mistaken, you consider a week's worth of detentions equal to child abuse? Somewhat noble? He wasn't able to defeat Voldemort and had to bestow the task on Harry because HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE. No one else can defeat him, and Ron and Hermione wished to help. Neither one of them died. The children who did die did so because they were following a cause THEY believed in, not because Dumbledore forced them to. You make their deaths sound like some sort of obligation they had to Dumbledore. No one said, "I'm going to fight this war because Dumbledore asked me to."
